Ruched walls in a celadon silk line the Batsheva store in New York City's Lower East Side. The concrete floor had been faux painted with leopard print by the artist Tim Snell, in a gesture that is part punk and part Joséphine Bonaparte, and the dressing rooms are wallpapered with pieced together torn fragments of antique wallpaper. A wicker mannequin surrealistically styled with props and painted red, moves around the store as needed. The sum total is an electrically refined, thoughtful, and playful reflection of Batsheva's brand.
