This apartment on Miami Beach, with panoramic views of the Atlantic from one end and the city from the other, is a surrealistic interpretation of Miami vernacular. Each room became a world unto itself, with the living room recalling a beach cabana, the entryway evoking a grotto, the study dipped in the green of a mangrove, and the blue den a whirl of sea and sky. The primary bedroom departs from the theme entirely and riffs on Marcel Proust's cork bedroom, a calming and silent respite from the vibrant city. The spaces were designed to accommodate the dynamic lives of the couple who call them home, requiring areas for work, study, relaxation and entertaining at all scales.
Custom millwork in steel and lacquer, shell encrusted surfaces by the grotto artist me she, and atmospheric handmade wallpapers by Wallpaper Projects clad every inch of the interior, a highly bespoke, personal, and carefully crafted project for these creative clients. CHH’s own Pool Table, in polished steel, sits in the dining area, reflecting the blue beyond and picking up fragments of the striped curtains that contain the space, disguising bits of wall to create the illusion that the views of the water might extend all around the room.
