In collaboration with Thom Browne and Mouthwash Studio, CHH helped to design and produce a dinner for Thom Browne at the beautiful Commerce Inn during NYFW, hosted by the great Cole Escola.
CHH designed a lighting collection for Objects for a Heavenly Cave, a group exhibition at Marta curated by Krista Mileva-Frank. The suite of lighting is made with a process that combines precision industrial fabrication and hand wrought metalwork in service of nautilus shell shades — an homage to the shell lamps created by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his poetic exploration of naturally occurring iridescence.
In time for Aspen Art Week, CHH unveiled a curated selection of new and antique pieces at the Aspen Art Museum Shop. The pop-up brings together unique artworks and design objects by CHH and their friends, including beautiful Venetian glass by YALI, linens from the Dolomites by Chiarastella Cattana, 1970s puzzles by Alighiero Boetti, and many other gems ranging from vintage architecture books to children's toys.
Charlap Hyman & Herrero has designed the set for ROBESOИ, a performance conceived by opera singer Davóne Tines and Zack Winokur, exploring the musical repertoire of Paul Robeson. The performance, running from June 26th to June 29th, 2024, is staged at Little Island within Hudson River Park.
CHH designed the booth for Jeffrey Deitch Gallery's exhibit, Live the Art, at Art Basel 2024. An homage to Edward James to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Surrealism, the floors are covered in billiard green carpet and the walls in a custom trompe-l’œil wallpaper of James’s iconic tufted walls.
Principal Andre Herrero will participate in FOUND. SALONE, a forum for leaders of the creative industry to investigate further how artificial intelligence and advanced technologies will integrate into the design practices of today and the future. Herrero will join Sara Hooker, Head of Cohere For AI and councilwoman on the World Economic Forum on the Future of Artificial Intelligence. The panel will be hosted at will.i.am AI Studio, and will be moderated by Adam Bleibtreu, former Chief Marketing Officer at Creative Circle and ASGN.

Adam Charlap Hyman has been named as the Curator of the 2024 Insider's Collecting Guide to TEFAF New York. As part of the role, Charlap Hyman selected eight works of interest, including pieces by Misha Kahn, Line Vautrin, Rosemarie Trockel, Michel Boyer, and Giorgio Morandi.
Alongside the curation, Charlap Hyman will participate in a panel with Eleanor Cayre and Ebony L. Haynes, hosted by Artnet, and moderated by Andrew Russeth.
CHH has curated an exhibition, In Ruins, for Platform, a digital art marketplace conceived by David Zwirner. As part of the digital experience, CHH imagined a metaphysical gallery concept in which the works are displayed. Some of the works were placed in the 1917 studio of Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney at the New York Studio School for a one-night exhibition and reception.

Widow’s Walk is named for the architectural element present on the roofs of many houses on Martha’s Vineyard, evoking the wives of mariners who watch for their spouses’ return in vain as the ocean takes their lives.

CHH has partnered with a new health-remedies brand, OEM, to produce an aesthetically and functionally innovative holder to house their Incense (Hinoki).
The OEM + Charlap Hyman & Herrero Incense Holder is a hand-polished stainless steel plate suspended by three interchangeable spheres. Inspired by Sogetsu Ikebana, the largest sphere includes three cavities so that the owner can arrange the incense, burn multiples, and mix scents. The algorithmically shattered plate reflects the surroundings, allowing it to disappear in a surreal way. It will be available on oem.care and ssense.com.

Working from cut paper designs by Adam Charlap Hyman, the renowned jeweler and artist Christopher Thompson Royds created a series of gold earrings shown at Design Miami/Basel.
CHH's birdhouse at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden takes the form of a jagged reflective mass, hovering above the ground. A green mirage of sorts, CHH collaborated with the artist Shun Kinoshita. Kinoshita uses paper, plaster, and silver nitrate to expressive effect - rendering sculptures, chairs, and tables that fuse his unique hand with an industrial coating process. The enclosure, perched atop its integrated stand, recalls the architecture of caves and the lightness of clouds, dissolving into its surroundings via its reflective properties. The birds that enter are protected by a sleeve of silvery camouflage, an ideal shelter for nesting.

For Camille Henrot's exhibition, Le vers dans le fruit, at Kamel Menour, CHH enveloped the gallery in layers of torn wallpaper suggesting the passage of time - the impression of a domestic space in transition. Three of the patterns are formed with Henrot's own drawings - lines of asemic writing, cigarettes and plumes of smoke, sperm or sweat - and are laid under a pattern of rippling curtain drawn by Pilar Almon rendered in three colors.

An adapted version of Clay Pop, the critically acclaimed show of artists working with clay at Jeffrey Deitch in New York, curated by Alia Jesenya, opened at Art Basel Miami. The show features works by Katie Stout, Raven Halfmoon, and Elizabeth Jaeger.
Showcasing work by 32 artists, designers, architects, and creative practitioners, 'Built In' celebrates the possibilities inherent to residential programming by inviting exhibition participants to dialogue with various structures intrinsic to the residence. Built-ins are the unmoving opposites of freestanding furniture.
Charlap Hyman & Herrero reimagined the exhibition space to encapsulate over forty artists and more than sixty works within a theatrical 'archaeological dig.' A light lilac color worked across the space to set a neutral backdrop for works overflowing with color, saturation, and figure. The space pivots around a central 'memory of a stair' across which viewers observe space, line, color, fill, and novel adjacencies between and around the works. CHH wrapped the space in weightless vinyl 'shard' decals to unground the ceramic works from conventional associations to history, materiality, and function.

Through this process, we seek to give new life to the things we hold, and to open up space that is crucial for new ways of working, making, and thinking.
