Charlap Hyman & Herrero designed the interiors of an apartment for two sisters in Gramercy. A staged formality is disrupted by various discordant elements, making the space feel like it was decorated in another time and updated over the years. In the context of the building’s grand scale, the layered décor and an array of original details made the space transport one to a Haussmannian apartment.
