CHH designed the New York City Flagship store for UNDEFEATED, located in Nolita. The 5,300 square-foot space features a layered palette of black venetian plaster walls, matte black Richlite display and seating millwork, stainless steel shelves, translucent 3Form resin panels, overdyed black canvas upholstery, and a custom green carpet. A series of vertical fins abstract the space, at times concealing and revealing the expansive array of sneakers on display. The organization of the store is meant to serve a range of customers, from committed followers who line up for product drops, to casual browsers, to people who come to hang out as much as shop. A composition of volumetric merchandising plinths and seating elements ground the store, leaning into the sunken quality of space. A grid of planar light fixtures is suspended from the ceiling, creating a graphic, illuminated field that contrasts with the dark material palette.
