Charlap Hyman & Herrero designed the first U.S. location for the Seoul-based lifestyle fragrance brand NONFICTION on the Lower East Side. Limewashed walls are set against glossy, oxblood tiled floors, and through an archway lies a niche enveloped with tiles depicting black roses - a custom motif for NONFICTION hand-painted by the artist Pilar Almon. A commissioned mahogany table by Doug McCollough, working within the language of Queen Anne, yet deliberately elongated and enlarged, sits in front of a circa 1770 Queen Anne candlestand from Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery.
