Charlap Hyman & Herrero designed a flexible showroom space for Moda Operandi, a leading luxury fashion retailer, in Hong Kong’s new K11 Musea. This is the brand’s first open-to-the-public space. It combines jewelry and apparel display with a large salon for trunk shows and couture fittings and a smaller salon for jewelry viewings. Each zone is visually distinguished by a monochromatic treatment rendered in different materials: carpet, velvet, silk moire, paint, chrome, stone, and upholstery. Retractable curtains on a network of curving tracks allow the space to be as dynamic as the brand’s approach is to retail.
