Charlap Hyman & Herrero designed a warm refuge for Everlane's pop-up Bleecker Street store, Cashmere Cabin. Making the narrow site an advantageous element rather than a constraint, CHH designed the store as a series of intimate rooms, performing different functions and connected via dramatic transitions. The store is lined with formally simple, light maple panels inspired by the interior of Le Corbusier's Cabanon in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. In the center of the space are two velvet-lined dressing rooms, both with pairs of opposite-facing mirrors such that shoppers, upon entering, will see themselves reflected infinitely.
