For "bistro seating" areas along Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive, CHH envisioned barriers formed by irregular arrangements of abstract forms, much like enlarged children’s building blocks. This radical design appears to play with gravity and the properties of the spherical and prismatic shapes while serving the same protective and visual functions as the existing temporary barriers. Each “block” is of a scale that communicates weightiness, and yet they seem to be precariously positioned.
