Charlap Hyman & Herrero worked with a couple - a painter and a writer - to renovate their Chelsea loft. The various public and private functions of the space have been carefully considered, as it is both a 1,700 square foot studio and a home. The restrained classicism of the owners' Biedermeier furniture complements the loft's series of elegant rooms, which pair industrial details with delicate touches.
