Drawing on the beauty of ruined structures near this property, tumbling down into the desert landscape around them, Charlap Hyman and Herrero envisioned a ghost-like structure surrounding a pool. Loosely triangular and symmetrical, disembodied walls and plinths suggest an excavation and provide barriers to the wind and sun. Reflections in the plan, in the water, and various mirrored materials confuse the eye as if an illusion in a marriage.
