Charlap Hyman & Herrero staged an intervention with the 21 Collection at the A. Everett "Chick" Austin House, part of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. Created with Patterson Flynn, the collection consists of the Grace, Chelsey, and Taj rugs. Constructed of hand-knotted wool and silk, the collection nods to the theatrical flair of Cecil Beaton and Emilio Terry’s statement-making floor shows from the 1930s, Gio Ponti’s expressive ceramics, and the foreboding film sets of Salo.
